Shuou Yamazaki : Special Exhibition

The Original Works on the 74th Yokozuna Toyoshoryu’s Kesho-mawashi (ceremonial aprons).

The Original Works on the Oozeki Aonishiki’s
Kesho-mawashi (ceremonial aprons).
Held as part of the 15th Anniversary Commemorative project for the Edo-Shodo Exhibition, this special exhibition features the original calligraphic characters created by design calligrapher Setsu Yamazaki — known for his work on titles for films and books — for the Kesho-mawashi (ceremonial aprons) of Yokozuna (Grand Champion) Toyoshoryu and top-ranked Ozeki Aonishiki. We invite you to experience this magnificent collaboration between the powerful calligraphy of modern youth and the beautiful, traditional craftsmanship that supports the heritage of Grand Sumo.
